    Whitefield Cemetery Sturgis, Mississippi

This page was last updated on: December 5, 2002

When coming from Starkville to Sturgis, a BP Station is on the left, take the first turn to the right, Sturgis-West Point Road. Go about 1/2 mile on your right you will see a sign for Bench Mark Works, the road sign says Earles Fork Road. Turn right, at the end of this road is Bench Mark Works and the cemetery is behind it. It is enclosed in a old fence but it is in good shape. There is a lot of empty space, which can either mean there are a lot of unmarked graves or that the owners alotted a certain amount of land. There have been a few burials in recent years.

Donated by Mona Tomlinson, All Rights Reserved.

As you go in the cemetery, there has been a headstone with the following written on it:

There were several small broken headstones I could not read.
Several Headstones have weathered with age and are very hard to read.

Aunt Betsy H 1810-1900 The name was very worn.
